HUNT INSTRUCTIONS

The only way to find this treasure is to use Google Earth overlooking the Blue Water Lake side of the Cibola National Forest.  The entire clue can be solved using Google Earth before you ever leave your house. You will use the clues contained in the riddle to be provided on the day of the hunt in order to pinpoint the exact location on a map (within a few yards).  Once you do pinpoint the location on Google Earth, you will want to scout out the best route using Google Earth to take and know what surrounds the area (AS THERE IS A PRETTY SIGNIFICANT DROP-OFF VERY CLOSE TO WHERE THE TREASURE IS).  There are roads you can take all the way up to within a few yards of the treasure's hiding place.  You will not need to drive off of any existing roads or trails, if you feel the need to, you obviously have not found the right location.

TOOLS YOU WILL NEED
  • Google Earth
    • You will be able to follow every clue and find the location on Google Earth before you even leave your house!! (trust me when I say you will be searching fruitlessly and never find a thing if you don't spend some time solving the clue with this tool.
    • (make sure you make good use of all the tools it has to offer.  e.g.  tool for making lines, the tool for measuring distance, and marking points etc.).
  • GPS so that you can plug in the coordinates that you pinpoint.
  • Cell Phone - although remote, the area around the treasure has cell reception.
  • Laptop- so you can take your Google Earth with you.  It is soooooooooooo helpful.
  • 4x4 vehicle- the roads you can utilize can be treacherous (we had a Jeep wrangler to hide the treasure and it was rough going.
  • Photo Gallery- a picture is worth a thousand words
  • The Riddle, which will be posted below on the day that the hunt is to begin.

As an attorney, I feel the overwhelming urge to insert a legal disclaimer, so here goes:
I am hiding this treasure for recreational purposes only.  The pictures that appear on this page were not  taken at the site where the treasure is to be hidden.  I am not asking any person to look for it so please do so at your own risk and don't go out alone or unprepared for anything.  This hunt is intended for treasure hunters over 18 years of age.  Anyone less than 18 should be accompanied by a responsible adult.  I make no warranties that the treasure is in an easy place to find  or get to (because it is not) or is even worth the effort (value is $50 in dollar coins).  You should understand that the location of this hidden treasure could be dangerous, with uneven terrain and many hidden dangers inherent in the wilderness areas.  If you choose to look for it please be prepared for all terrains, weather and conditions.  Please follow all laws and do not do anything that would endanger wildlife or habitat.  As the  treasure is hidden on National Forest Land, please understand that DIGGING IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED.  Don't worry, the treasure will be above ground encased in the concrete box you see pictured below.  As in any wilderness activity, you should know your limits, carry necessary provisions and make sure that someone knows where you intend to be.  With the way this hunt is set up you should be able to give exact coordinates to someone as to where you intend to be looking.  Again, as the treasure is hidden on national forest property, please note that I disclaim any interest in the treasure itself but I would like to retain the encasement so, if you wouldn't mind leaving that where you find it.

Marking the path that you must find,
You should begin with the question, Why?
Then move along in an ordinal direction,
Watching a point within a point go by.

If you stumble upon a domino of rice,
Then you have strayed off your path’s ledge.
Seek higher ground to lookout from,
Then orient your line toward a mount’s edge.

At this important point take note:
Passing salt at the table ends the angle left to tri -
And if you can find your center of gravity within
You will be rewarded by and by.

Come in from the North if it isn’t too late
Then take a road heading East for 2.98
Then follow that trail Southwest, that you see.
Heading straight toward your center of gravity.

Keep going till the path ends at .47
There you will find your treasure nestled in an alligator haven.

    • The photo gallery is helpful
    • Be careful and be prepared
    • Let someone know where you intend to be.
    • Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We finally got the treasure hidden today. It took my brother a couple hours and a 4x4 jeep to get there to hide it but at least I know it is possible to get to.

The clue has been out for a whole year now. To my knowledge it is still out there. Good luck to anyone brave enough to try it.
